Data Capture Institute designed and project-managed the Lotus Development Corporation second generation bar code data collection system. Lotus had been an early adopter of bar code for distribution management and service fulfillment. With some early payback from an in-house designed system, they then engaged DCI to design and manage the roll out of bar code applications for management of:

• Raw material receipt and put-away
• Material kitting to the production floor
• Production tracking, packaging and serialization
• Carton packing and pallet management through transfer to the distribution center
• On-line verification of order fulfillment
• Manifest generation and cross-dock transfer to carriers
• Warranty tracking
• Return material authorization management and return credit verification
